Gates of Olympus 2500 Review: RTP, 25,000x and Free Demo

Our score: 8.5/10

Quick verdict: Gates of Olympus 2500 is the most complex game in the series: orbs up to 2,500x, four free spins types chosen at random, three Ante levels, two Super Spin modes and four bonus buys. The RTP holds between 96.49% and 96.52% in every mode, so none of them is a shortcut. It's thrilling, and it makes overspending very easy.

The newest sequel

What is Gates of Olympus 2500?

Gates of Olympus 2500 is Pragmatic Play's newest Zeus slot, released on . The core is familiar: a 6x5 grid where any 8 or more matching symbols anywhere pay, tumbles, the same paytable as the original, and multiplier orbs on any spin. The orbs now go up to 2,500x, and the max win is 25,000x the bet.

What's really new is the layer of choices around it. When you trigger free spins, the game picks one of four bonus types at random. A Special Bets menu offers five modes: three Ante levels and two Super Spins that guarantee a multiplier on every spin. A Buy Feature menu sells all four bonus types directly, from 100x to 1,250x the bet.

None of that changes the long-run return much: the rules list 96.49% to 96.52% for every mode. What it changes is how fast you spend, and how wildly results swing.

Multipliers up to 2,500x

The paytable is the original's to the cent: 12 or more crowns pay 50x, 8 blue gems 0.25x, and the scatter 3x, 5x or 100x for 4, 5 or 6 or more. Wins tumble until no new win forms. Multiplier orbs land on any reel in any spin or tumble, in the base game and the free spins; at the end of the tumbles their values are added together and multiply the total win.

The 1,000x to 2,500x orbs are what the game is named after, and they are very rare. OLBG puts a win of 1,000x or more at about once in 36,000 spins, and the max win far rarer still.

The main event

The four free spins types

Four or more scatters trigger 15 free spins. Before the round starts, the game picks one of four types at random; the wheel you see is, in the rules' words, only a graphic representation. Three or more scatters during any type add 5 spins, and special reels are in play.

What each type does (from page 3 of the rules)
TypeWhich orbs join the totalWhat the total multipliesLowest orbBuy price
Free Spins 1Only orbs on winning spinsWinning spins with a new orb2x100x
Free Spins 2Every orb that landsEvery win in the round2x250x
Super Free Spins 1Only orbs on winning spinsWinning spins with a new orb10x500x
Super Free Spins 2Every orb that landsEvery win in the round10x1,250x

Why "collect" matters

Free Spins 1 is the classic Gates of Olympus bonus: an orb only counts if it lands with a win, and the total only applies to winning spins that bring a new orb. In type 2, every orb is collected, win or not, and the total multiplies every win for the rest of the round. That's why the buy menu prices it at 2.5 times the standard round.

The Super types add a 10x floor to every orb, which makes the total climb much faster. Super Free Spins 2 combines both: every orb collects, none is below 10x. It's the most explosive version of the bonus in the whole series.

How often the wheel picks each type naturally isn't published. The rules only say Ante Bet 3 makes the three better types more likely.

Gates of Olympus 2500 Buy Feature menu at a $2 base bet: Free Spins 1 for $200, standard free spins; Free Spins 2 for $500, any multiplier hit collects; Super Free Spins 1 for $1,000, minimum multiplier 10x; Super Free Spins 2 for $2,500, any multiplier collects and minimum 10x
Five extra modes

Special bets: three Antes and two Super Spins

The Special Bets menu changes the bet multiplier, and with it the cost of every spin. The rules write it as a multiplier of the coin value; the table converts it into what each spin costs at a $1 base bet.

Ante Bets make the free spins more likely. Ante 1 costs 25% more and doubles the chance. Ante 2 costs 2.75 times the bet and makes the bonus 8 times more likely. Ante 3 costs 5.5 times the bet, keeps the 8x chance and makes the three stronger bonus types more likely to be picked.

Super Spins are a different idea: the free spins can't trigger at all, but every spin is guaranteed at least one multiplier orb. Super Spin 1 costs 20 times the bet with a random orb value. Super Spin 2 costs 250 times the bet and the guaranteed orb is worth at least 25x. Because the orb only pays if the spin wins, a 250x spin can still return nothing.

Straight to the bonus

Four bonus buys

Where buys are allowed, each bonus type can be bought directly: Free Spins 1 for 100x the base bet, Free Spins 2 for 250x, Super Free Spins 1 for 500x and Super Free Spins 2 for 1,250x. At a $2 bet that's $200, $500, $1,000 and $2,500. Every buy has a 96.50% RTP, so a pricier buy isn't a better deal, just a bigger, swingier bet. Buys are switched off in the UK and the Netherlands.

Do the math before you click

At a $1 bet, Super Free Spins 2 costs $1,250 for one round of 15 spins. That's more than 1,200 normal spins. Treat any buy above 100x as money you can lose in one go, and never use one to win back losses.

The numbers

Gates of Olympus 2500 RTP, volatility and max win

RTP: 96.52%, and close to it everywhere

The rules list ten RTP figures. Normal play is 96.52%. All three Ante Bets are 96.49%. Both Super Spins and all four buys are 96.50%. The spread is 3 cents per $100 wagered, which means the choice of mode is about how you want to play, not about value. Pragmatic Play's own game page writes 96.51%; the game's rules say 96.52%, and we go by the game.

OLBG also lists lower versions at 95.50% and 94.50%. The game looks the same in each, so check page 5 of the rules at your casino. Our RTP guide shows where to find it.

Volatility: high

The rules label it High volatility, and the numbers agree. About 28% of spins win something, roughly 1 in 3.6. Free spins come about once in 443 spins in normal play, and much of the return is concentrated in rare bonus rounds with big orbs.

Max win: 25,000x

The max win is 25,000x the bet: $5,000 at $0.20 and $25,000 at $1. If a round reaches it, the round ends at once, the win is paid and all remaining features are forfeited. In the UK, at the £5 stake limit, the most you can win is £125,000. OLBG estimates the odds at about 1 in 13.5 million spins.

The rules list bets from $0.20 to $60,000. The top figure isn't a normal stake: it matches the cost of a Super Spin 2 at a $240 base bet (250 × $240). Normal spins at most casinos top out far lower.

Gates of Olympus 2500 rules page 5: High volatility label, theoretical RTP 96.52%, Ante Bet 1, 2 and 3 at 96.49%, Super Spin 1 and 2 at 96.50%, all four buys at 96.50%, minimum bet $0.20 and maximum bet $60,000
How rare are the big wins?

OLBG's estimates for normal play: 1,000x about once in 36,459 spins; 5,000x once in 520,346; 10,000x once in 1,984,521; 25,000x once in 13,477,089. The game's rules give no odds.

What we saw

One bought round, step by step

Our screenshots follow one round at a $2 bet. The balance dropped from $100,000 to $97,500 before it started, which matches the $2,500 price of a Super Free Spins 2 buy. Four scatters landed and paid $6, and the game confirmed: "Zeus awards Super Free Spins 2".

Because every orb collects and none is below 10x, the total multiplier grew quickly: 80x with 7 spins left, 107x with 2 left and 197x on the last spin. With 2 spins left, a single tumble sequence paid $1,082.30.

The result. The round paid $2,374.10, about 1,187x the bet. That's a huge number, and still about $126 less than the $2,500 it cost. Even a round with a 197x total multiplier didn't pay back this buy.

One round proves nothing about averages; that's exactly the point. With a 96.50% RTP, the price of a buy is, on average, slightly more than it returns. This is a single captured round, not a test session.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Four bonus types make each trigger a surprise
  • Free Spins 2 and Super Free Spins 2 collect every orb, a real change to the formula
  • Orbs up to 2,500x and a 25,000x max win
  • Ten RTP figures, all between 96.49% and 96.52%, printed in the rules
  • Same paytable as the original: easy to follow

What we don't

  • Complex: three Antes, two Super Spins and four buys
  • Spins can cost up to 250 times the base bet in Super Spin 2
  • Buys up to 1,250x make it very easy to lose a lot in minutes
  • The odds of each bonus type aren't published
  • Lower RTP versions exist, and casinos don't always say which they run

Our verdict: is Gates of Olympus 2500 worth playing?

Gates of Olympus 2500: the biggest toolbox in the series, with the same math underneath.

As a game, the 2500 is the most exciting sequel yet. The random bonus type adds suspense to every trigger, and the collect versions of the free spins genuinely change how a round builds. Pragmatic Play is open about it too: every mode has its RTP printed in the rules, and none of them drops below 96.49%.

The risk is in all those options. Super Spins and the upper buys let a single click cost hundreds or thousands of times the bet, and the round we captured shows how even a 197x total multiplier can fall short of the price. Play it in normal mode or with Ante 1, keep the buys for the demo, and set a budget first. If you'd rather keep it simple, the original Gates of Olympus is the same core game.

Frequently asked questions

What is the RTP of Gates of Olympus 2500?

The rules give 96.52% for normal play, 96.49% for all three Ante Bets and 96.50% for both Super Spins and all four bonus buys. OLBG also lists lower versions at 95.50% and 94.50%, so check the rules screen at your casino.

What are the four free spins types?

Free Spins 1 is the classic bonus. Free Spins 2 collects every orb and multiplies every win. Super Free Spins 1 and 2 are the same two with a 10x minimum orb. The game picks one at random when you trigger, or you can buy each for 100x, 250x, 500x or 1,250x.

What is Super Spin in Gates of Olympus 2500?

A special bet that guarantees at least one multiplier orb on every spin, but switches off the free spins. Super Spin 1 costs 20 times the base bet; Super Spin 2 costs 250 times and its orb is worth at least 25x.

What does the Ante Bet cost in Gates of Olympus 2500?

Ante 1 costs 1.25 times the bet and doubles the free spins chance. Ante 2 costs 2.75 times and makes it 8 times higher. Ante 3 costs 5.5 times, keeps the 8x chance and makes the better bonus types more likely.

What is the max win on Gates of Olympus 2500?

It's 25,000x your bet: $5,000 at $0.20 and $25,000 at $1. The round ends as soon as the cap is reached, and any remaining features are forfeited.

Is Gates of Olympus 2500 better than the 1000?

It has a higher ceiling and far more options, at almost the same RTP. If you want the classic experience, the 1000 is simpler. If you like choosing modes and chasing bigger orbs, the 2500 offers more.

Can I play Gates of Olympus 2500 for free?

Yes. Many casinos offer it in free-play mode, and Pragmatic Play has a demo on its website. In the UK, casinos must verify your age before any demo.

How we checked the numbers

This Gates of Olympus 2500 review is written by the Gates of Olympus Guide team. We start from the official Pragmatic Play game page and the game's own rules screens, which give the RTP of all ten modes, the volatility label, the 19 multiplier values, the four bonus types, the special bets, the buy prices and the 25,000x cap rule. The release date comes from launch coverage at EEGaming. Lower RTP versions, hit and bonus frequency and the big-win odds come from OLBG.

The screenshots come from the game itself, taken in a dollar session in October 2026 at a $2 bet. The bought round shown is a single captured round, not a test: we haven't run a recorded test session, and we never invent results. An editor reviews each AI-assisted draft before it goes live: see our editorial policy and review method.
