Gates of Olympus Super Scatter Review: 50,000x Max Win and Demo

Our score: 8.5/10

Quick verdict: Super Scatter keeps the original's 2x–500x orbs and adds a second kind of scatter. When Super Scatters help trigger the bonus, they pay 100x, 500x, 5,000x or 50,000x on top. Add a 500x Super Free Spins buy and an Ante Bet that costs 50% more, and it's the most feature-packed classic Gates of Olympus, with a jackpot-like top prize that almost nobody will see.

The 2025 edition

What is Gates of Olympus Super Scatter?

Gates of Olympus Super Scatter is Pragmatic Play's 2025 version of its Zeus slot, released on . It's built on the original game, not on the 1000: the same 6x5 pay-anywhere grid, the same paytable, tumbles and multiplier orbs from 2x to 500x, and 15 free spins with a running total multiplier.

The new part is in the name. Alongside the normal Zeus scatter, a fiery Super Scatter can land in the base game. When it's part of a free spins trigger, it pays a fixed prize of 100x to 50,000x the bet depending on how many land. That prize is where the 50,000x max win comes from, ten times the original's cap.

Two more changes come with it: a Super Free Spins buy for 500x, where every orb is worth at least 10x, and an Ante Bet that costs 50% extra instead of 25%. The screen has two buy buttons and the Ante panel stacked on the left.

Gates of Olympus Super Scatter base game at a $2 bet: the 6x5 grid on a dark red background, Zeus in golden armor, Buy Free Spins at $200, Buy Super Free Spins at $1,000 and the Double Chance panel at $3.00

The new symbol

How the Super Scatter pays

The Super Scatter is a round fiery coin with Zeus's lightning bolt. It can land on any reel in the base game and counts as a scatter: any mix of 4 or more scatters and Super Scatters triggers the free spins. If at least one of those is a Super Scatter, the trigger pays a fixed prize based on how many Super Scatters are in it.

1100x$100
2500x$500
35,000x$5,000
450,000x$50,000

From page 3 of the game's rules. Four Super Scatters reach the 50,000x cap on their own.

What it means in practice

One Super Scatter in a trigger turns an ordinary bonus into a guaranteed 100x before the free spins even start. That's the most realistic hit. Two pay 500x. Three or four are the headline numbers, and they're extremely rare: BigWinBoard puts the odds of the 50,000x max win at about 1 in 666,666,667 spins.

Two limits matter. Super Scatters don't appear during the free spins, so they can't retrigger into a fortune; and the Ante Bet places more of them on the reels, which is part of why it costs 50% more. Neither buy guarantees a Super Scatter: the rules say a bought round lands 4, 5 or 6 scatters.

Familiar ground

Symbols, multipliers and tumbles

Everything else in the base game is the original. Any 8 or more matching symbols anywhere pay, from 0.25x for 8 blue gems up to 50x for 12 or more crowns; the normal Zeus scatter pays 3x, 5x or 100x for 4, 5 or 6. Winning symbols disappear and new ones tumble in until no new win forms. The full table is in our Gates of Olympus paytable, and the amounts at a $2 bet match it cent for cent.

Multiplier orbs land on any spin or tumble, in the base game and the free spins. When the tumbling ends, their values are added together and multiply the total win of the spin. The values are the original's 15, from 2x to 500x; there's no 1,000x orb here.

The main event

Free spins and Super Free Spins

Four or more scatters of any kind trigger 15 free spins, after the scatter and Super Scatter prizes are paid. Three or more scatters during the round add 5 spins. Special reels are in play, and Super Scatters don't appear.

The running total

It works as in every classic Gates of Olympus game. When an orb lands on a spin that wins, its value joins a total multiplier that never resets during the round, and the whole total multiplies that spin's win. A winning spin without a new orb pays its normal value.

Super Free Spins: only by buying

Super Free Spins are the same 15-spin round with one change: every multiplier orb is worth at least 10x. The 2x to 8x values are gone, so the total climbs much faster. You can't trigger it naturally; it costs 500x the bet. The rules give it a 96.49% RTP, so the higher price buys a different shape of result, not a better return.

What we saw. In a Super Free Spins round bought for $1,000 at a $2 bet, a 10x orb, the lowest value allowed, landed with 11 spins left, and with 2 spins left the total multiplier stood at 35x. That's one round, not a test, and we don't know how many rounds pay back the 500x price.

Gates of Olympus Super Scatter free spins at a $2 bet: a blue 10x orb on the grid, 11 free spins left, 9 blue gems paying $0.50 and a win of $6.50 Superb win banner of $7.76 over the Gates of Olympus Super Scatter grid, with the total multiplier at 35x and 2 free spins left
Optional extras

Ante Bet and the two buys

Ante Bet: +50%

Here the Ante Bet sets the bet multiplier to 30x instead of 20x, so a $1 spin costs $1.50, not $1.25 as in the original. In return, more scatters and Super Scatters are placed on the reels. The rules only say the chance of free spins is "higher"; reviews describe it as roughly double. Both buys are locked while it's on.

It's also the one mode where the rules list a slightly higher RTP: 96.55% against 96.50%. That's 5 cents more per $100 wagered, in theory. Real, but far too small to matter in a session, and you spend 50% more per spin to get it.

Two buys: 100x and 500x

Where buys are allowed, Buy Free Spins costs 100x the bet and Buy Super Free Spins 500x: $200 and $1,000 at a $2 bet. Either way, 4, 5 or 6 scatters land at random on the triggering spin, so a buy can also pay the 5x or 100x scatter prize. Bonus buys are switched off in the UK and the Netherlands.

A 500x buy is a lot of money for one round. Only consider it at a bet where losing the whole 500x would not hurt.

The numbers

Gates of Olympus Super Scatter RTP, volatility and max win

RTP: 96.50%, with four modes listed

The rules list an RTP for each way to play: 96.50% for normal spins, 96.55% with the Ante Bet, 96.50% for the free spins buy and 96.49% for the Super Free Spins buy. Casinos can also run versions at 95.50% or 94.50%. The game looks identical in each, so check the line "The theoretical RTP of this game is" on page 5 of the rules. Our RTP guide shows where to find it.

Volatility: labeled Medium, plays high

Like the original, the rules screen labels the game Medium volatility. BigWinBoard calls it High, and the numbers agree with BigWinBoard: about 1 spin in 3.6 wins something, the free spins come about once in 438 spins, and a large part of the return sits in rare Super Scatter prizes. Expect long quiet stretches.

Max win: 50,000x

The max win is 50,000x the bet: $10,000 at $0.20 and $50,000 at $1. If a round's total win reaches it, the round ends at once, the win is paid and any remaining free spins are forfeited. In the UK, at the £5 stake limit, the most you can win is £250,000. BigWinBoard estimates the odds at about 1 in 666,666,667 spins: treat it as a lottery-style prize, not a goal.

Myths and facts

More in our Gates of Olympus tips and myths guide.

  • Myth

"Buying Super Free Spins gets you Super Scatters."

    Fact

The Super buy gives orbs of 10x and up. Super Scatters only land on base-game spins, and never in the free spins.

  • Myth

"The Ante Bet has a better RTP, so always use it."

    Fact

It's 96.55% versus 96.50%: 5 cents per $100. You pay 50% more per spin for it.

  • Myth

"50,000x is the new normal for big wins."

    Fact

It takes four Super Scatters in one trigger, roughly once in hundreds of millions of spins. Most bonuses pay far less than 100x.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Super Scatters add a real extra chance in the base game: even one pays 100x
  • 50,000x max win, ten times the original
  • Super Free Spins with 10x minimum orbs give a new kind of bonus
  • The rules list an RTP for all four modes, 96.49% to 96.55%
  • Familiar paytable and orbs: easy to pick up

What we don't

  • The 5,000x and 50,000x prizes are so rare they hardly count
  • The Ante Bet costs 50% more per spin
  • A 500x buy makes it very easy to lose a lot quickly
  • "Medium volatility" on the rules screen understates how it plays
  • Lower RTP versions exist, and casinos don't always say which they run

Slots similar to Gates of Olympus Super Scatter

The closest relatives share the grid, the orbs and the running total. Each card says what changes.

  • Gates of Olympus

The base Super Scatter is built on: the same paytable and 2x–500x orbs, without Super Scatters, at a 5,000x cap.

  • Gates of Olympus 2500

Also adds bonus options, but through four random bonus types and special bets instead of a second scatter.

  • Gates of Olympus 1000

Raises the top orb to 1,000x instead of adding a new scatter. Simpler, with a 15,000x cap.

  • Starlight Princess

Pragmatic Play's anime twin of the original, with the same 6x5 grid, tumbles and orbs.

Our verdict: is Gates of Olympus Super Scatter worth playing?

Gates of Olympus Super Scatter: the original game with a second, much bigger scatter prize.

Super Scatter is the most interesting sequel so far. It keeps everything that made the original work and adds a base-game feature that changes how spins feel: every trigger could carry a Super Scatter, and even the smallest one pays 100x. Super Free Spins are a genuinely different bonus, and the rules are open about the RTP of every mode.

The cost is complexity and temptation. A +50% Ante Bet and a 500x buy make it easy to spend fast, and the headline 50,000x is a lottery-style prize. Play it for the 100x and 500x Super Scatter hits, set a strict budget, and treat the buys with care. If you want something simpler, the original Gates of Olympus is the same game without the extras.

Frequently asked questions

How does the Super Scatter work?

It counts as a scatter in the base game. When 4 or more scatters of any kind trigger the free spins and at least one is a Super Scatter, you win 100x, 500x, 5,000x or 50,000x the bet for 1, 2, 3 or 4 Super Scatters. It doesn't appear during the free spins.

What is the RTP of Gates of Olympus Super Scatter?

It's 96.50% in the standard version, 96.55% with the Ante Bet, 96.50% for the free spins buy and 96.49% for the Super Free Spins buy. Casinos can also run 95.50% or 94.50% versions; the rules screen shows which.

What is the max win on Gates of Olympus Super Scatter?

It's 50,000x your bet: $10,000 at $0.20 and $50,000 at $1. The round ends as soon as the cap is reached. In the UK, at the £5 stake limit, the most you can win is £250,000.

What are Super Free Spins?

A bought version of the 15 free spins where every multiplier orb is worth at least 10x. It costs 500x the bet, can't be triggered naturally, and has an RTP of 96.49%.

How much does the Ante Bet cost?

It adds 50% to your bet: $1.50 per spin instead of $1. It places more scatters and Super Scatters on the reels and locks both buys. Its RTP is 96.55%.

What's the difference from the original Gates of Olympus?

Super Scatter adds the Super Scatter symbol, a 500x Super Free Spins buy and a +50% Ante Bet, and raises the max win from 5,000x to 50,000x. The paytable, orbs from 2x to 500x and 15 free spins are the same.

Can I play Gates of Olympus Super Scatter for free?

Yes. Many casinos offer it in free-play mode, and Pragmatic Play has a demo on its website. In the UK, casinos must verify your age before any demo.

How we checked the numbers

This Gates of Olympus Super Scatter review is written by the Gates of Olympus Guide team. We start from the official Pragmatic Play game page, its launch announcement and the game's own rules screens, which give the Super Scatter prizes, the RTP for all four modes, the volatility label, the buy prices, the bet limits and the 50,000x cap rule. Lower RTP versions, hit and bonus frequency and the max-win odds come from BigWinBoard and OLBG.

The screenshots come from the game itself, taken in a dollar session in October 2026 at a $2 bet. The Super Free Spins round shown is a single captured round, not a test: we haven't run a recorded test session, and we never invent results. Play responsibly

A 500x buy and a +50% Ante Bet make Gates of Olympus Super Scatter one of the fastest ways in the series to spend a budget. Gambling is entertainment that costs money, not a way to earn it.

  • Decide on a budget before you start and stop when it's gone.
  • Use deposit limits, time reminders and self-exclusion tools at your casino.
  • Never chase losses, with a bonus buy or anything else.
