Gates of Olympus Guide

How we review Gates of Olympus slots

Every review on this site follows the same method, so scores are comparable across the series. Here's where our numbers come from, how we score, and how often we update.

Where the numbers come from

  1. Official data first: Pragmatic Play's game pages and launch announcements, and the in-game paytable and rules screens.
  2. Cross-checking: each game's facts are compared across 10 or more independent reviews and industry media. These include OLBG, BigWinBoard, AskGamblers, SlotCatalog and AboutSlots.
  3. Disagreements: when sources conflict, we say so on the page and explain which figure we use and why.
  4. Frequencies and odds (hit rate, bonus frequency, max-win odds) are labeled with their source. Pragmatic Play doesn't print them on its game pages, so we treat them as published estimates, not official data.
  5. Market rules: stake limits, bonus-buy bans and other rules come from the regulators: the UK Gambling Commission, Germany's GGL, the Dutch KSA and Ontario's AGCO.

What we check in the game

For each game we open the paytable and rules screens and capture them: symbol pays, the multiplier values, the free spins rules, the RTP line and the max-win wording. Where the in-game screen disagrees with a published source, the in-game screen wins.

The screenshots in our reviews are those game screens, taken in October 2026. A few reviews show a single bonus round we captured, clearly marked as one round. We haven't run recorded test sessions, so no review reports averages from our own play, bonus counts or dry spells.

How we score

Each game gets four scores out of 10, and the overall score is close to their average:

  • Bonus feature: depth and variety of the free spins and extras, and how clearly they're presented.
  • Win potential: the max win, how often the bonus lands and the RTP.
  • Gameplay: the base game, pacing and how easy the rules are to follow.
  • Design and sound: visuals, animation and audio.

Scores are editorial opinions. We have no commercial partners, and if that ever changes, partners will have no say in scores.

How often we update

We review every page at least every three months and whenever a game changes, a new RTP version appears, a market changes its rules or a new game in the series is released. The "Updated" date only changes when the content really changes.
