Gates of Olympus Free Spins: Feature and Casino Offers

"Free spins" means two things around Gates of Olympus: the 15-spin bonus round inside the game, and the free spins casinos hand out as promotions. This guide covers both: how the feature and its total multiplier really work, and how to read a casino offer before you take it.

How to trigger the free spins

Land 4 or more Zeus scatters anywhere on the 6x5 grid in one spin, tumbles included. First the scatters pay: 3x your bet for 4, 5x for 5 and 100x for 6. Then the game awards 15 free spins, whatever the number of scatters.

On average that happens about once in 448 spins in normal play. The Ante Bet, at 25% extra per spin, doubles the chance, so about once in 224. Where it's allowed, you can also buy the round for 100x the bet.

During the round, 3 or more scatters add 5 more spins. There's no limit to these retriggers. The rules also say special reels are in play, so symbols don't land with the same frequencies as in the base game.

The total multiplier, rule by rule

In the base game, multiplier orbs only count for the spin they land on. In the free spins they build a running total multiplier, shown on the column left of the grid. Three rules decide everything:

  1. An orb joins the total only if its spin wins. An orb on a losing spin is lost.
  2. The total applies only to winning spins that bring a new orb. A winning spin without an orb pays its normal amount.
  3. The total never resets until the round ends.

So an early orb is worth more than it looks: it multiplies every later spin where another orb arrives with a win. That's also why rounds vary so wildly. A 10x on spin 2 followed by more orbs can turn into hundreds of times the bet; the same 10x with no more orb-and-win spins adds almost nothing.

Worked example, bet $1. Spin 3 wins 2x with a 10x orb: total 10x, the spin pays $20. Spin 7 wins 1.5x with a 5x orb: total 15x, it pays $22.50. Spin 9 wins 4x with no orb: it pays $4, not $60. Spin 12 lands a 50x orb with no win: nothing joins the total.

What a free spins round usually pays

Pragmatic Play doesn't publish the average value of the round, and we haven't run a test large enough to measure it. What we can say from the game's design: the bonus buy costs 100x with a 96.50% RTP, so an average round, including the scatter win, is worth a little under 100x. The average is pulled up by rare huge rounds, which means most rounds pay less than that.

In other words, a round paying 20x to 60x is ordinary, and a round under 20x isn't bad luck in any special sense. Rounds of several hundred times the bet happen, and they're what the averages depend on.

The rounds we captured for our reviews show the range: an Xmas 1000 round bought for 100x paid 238.6x, while a 2500 round bought for 1,250x paid about 1,187x despite a 197x total multiplier. Single rounds, not a test, but they show why a buy is a gamble on a gamble.

Free spins across the Gates of Olympus series

All five main games start the round the same way, with 4 scatters and 15 spins, and retrigger with 3. What changes is the orb range and the extra bonus types.

Part 2: casino promotions

Casino free spins on Gates of Olympus

Casinos often give free spins on Gates of Olympus as a welcome or deposit offer. We don't list or rank offers: they change weekly, differ by country, and we have no commercial deals with casinos. Instead, here's how to read one.

  • Spin value. Most offer spins at the minimum, $0.20 or 10p. A hundred spins at $0.20 is $20 of play, not a fortune.
  • Wagering. Winnings from free spins often have to be wagered a number of times before you can withdraw. In the UK, wagering on bonuses has been capped at 10x since January 2026. Elsewhere, 35x or 40x is common, and that usually means the winnings are gone before you can cash them out.
  • Win caps. Many offers limit what you can withdraw from free spins, for example to $50 or $100, however much the spins paid.
  • Expiry. Spins and bonus funds often expire in 3 to 7 days.
  • Which game. Make sure the spins are actually on Gates of Olympus, and check its RTP line once they start.
Red flags
  • Wagering above 10x at a site claiming a UK license
  • "Not on GamStop" or no license you can find in a regulator's register
  • The game's rules show 94.50% or no RTP line at all
  • "Pragmatic Play" spins on a US sweepstakes site
  • Free spins that require a deposit but are advertised as "no risk"

A free spins offer is still gambling. Decide your budget first, and don't deposit more to unlock a bonus.

Frequently asked questions

How do you get free spins in Gates of Olympus?

Land 4 or more Zeus scatters anywhere in one spin. You get 15 free spins plus 3x, 5x or 100x for 4, 5 or 6 scatters. On average it takes about 448 spins, or about 224 with the Ante Bet on.

How does the total multiplier work?

Every orb that lands on a winning free spin is added to a total that never resets during the round. That total multiplies any winning spin that brings a new orb. Winning spins without an orb pay normally.

Can you retrigger the free spins?

Yes. Three or more scatters during the round add 5 spins, with no limit on how many times.

Are casino free spins on Gates of Olympus worth it?

Only if the terms are fair. Check the spin value, wagering, win cap and expiry. Low wagering (10x or less) and no win cap are good signs; 35x or more with a cap usually means little real value.

Play responsibly

Every spin is random, and the free spins can take hundreds of spins to arrive. Set a budget before you start, use your casino's deposit and time limits, and never chase losses.
