Gates of Olympus RTP: All Versions and How to Check
Gates of Olympus pays back 96.50% in its standard version, but casinos can also run it at 95.51% or 94.50%, and the game looks the same either way. Here's what the difference costs, the RTP of every mode across the series, and how to check yours in under a minute.

What RTP means, and what it doesn't
RTP, or return to player, is the share of all money wagered on a slot that it pays back over a very large number of spins. At 96.50%, Gates of Olympus returns $96.50 for every $100 wagered, in theory. The other $3.50 is the house edge.
"In theory" matters. RTP is measured over millions of spins. Your session of 200 or 2,000 spins can end far above or far below it, and in a high-volatility game like this one it usually does. A 96.50% slot doesn't give back $96.50 of your $100; it might give back $10 or $400.
What RTP does tell you is the price of playing. The lower the RTP, the more each dollar wagered costs on average, and that cost adds up over many spins, because the same money gets wagered again and again.
Why small gaps add up. At $1 a spin, 500 spins is $500 wagered, even if you started with $100 and kept replaying wins. At 96.50% the expected cost is $17.50. At 94.50% it's $27.50. Same game, same screen, $10 more.
The three Gates of Olympus RTP versions
Pragmatic Play offers Gates of Olympus to casinos in three settings: 96.50%, 95.51% and 94.50%. The casino chooses. Pragmatic Play's own game page lists only 96.50%; the two lower settings are documented by OLBG, AskGamblers and SlotCatalog. Some sites write 95.50% for the middle one.
The math changes, but nothing you can see does: same symbols, same pays, same features. The only visible difference is one line in the game's rules.
| Version | House edge | Per $1,000 wagered |
|---|---|---|
| 96.50% | 3.50% | $35.00 |
| 95.51% | 4.49% | $44.90 |
| 94.50% | 5.50% | $55.00 |
Expected cost over the long run, not the result of any single session. At the lowest version you pay about 57% more per dollar wagered than at the top one.
RTP of every Gates of Olympus game and mode
The sequels add Ante Bets, buys and special modes, and their rules list a separate RTP for each. We read them all from the games themselves in October 2026. The differences between modes are a few hundredths of a percent.
| Game | Normal play | Ante Bet | Bonus buys | Lower versions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gates of Olympus | 96.50% | 96.50% | 96.50% | 95.51%, 94.50% |
| Gates of Olympus 1000 | 96.50% | 96.50% | 96.49% | 95.51%, 94.50% |
| Xmas 1000 | 96.50% | 96.50% | 96.49% | 95.00%, 94.00% |
| Super Scatter | 96.50% | 96.55% | 96.50%; Super 96.49% | 95.50%, 94.50% |
| Gates of Olympus 2500 | 96.52% | 96.49% (all three) | 96.50% (all four) | 95.50%, 94.50% |
Lower versions from OLBG, AskGamblers, SlotCatalog, BigWinBoard and AboutSlots; they aren't shown in the game unless your casino runs them. The 2500's Super Spins are 96.50%. Pragmatic Play's page for the 2500 says 96.51%; its rules say 96.52%.
Its lower settings are 95.00% and 94.00%, below every other game's. If you can't confirm 96.50% in its rules, play the regular Gates of Olympus 1000 instead.
How to check your casino's RTP version
- Open the game at your casino, in real-money or demo mode.
- Tap the "i" button at the bottom left, next to your balance. It opens the game rules.
- Page through to the general rules: page 4 in the original and the 1000 versions, page 5 in Super Scatter and the 2500. It's the page that starts with the volatility label.
- Read the line "The theoretical RTP of this game is". That's your version. The lines below give the RTP with the Ante Bet and the buys.
- Compare. 96.50% (96.52% for the 2500) is the top setting. Anything lower means the casino chose a cheaper version for itself.
Check it once per casino and per game. The same casino can run different settings for different titles, and a demo isn't guaranteed to match the real-money version.
Real game or copy?
An RTP line only means something if the game is real. Gates of Olympus is one of the most copied slots online, and fake versions have appeared on unlicensed and sweepstakes sites, sometimes paying generously in play-money mode to draw deposits. A copy can show any numbers it likes.
The real game loads with the Pragmatic Play logo, has full multi-page rules with the RTP for every mode, the max-win rule and the bet limits, and keeps a game history in its settings menu. Most importantly, it's offered by a casino licensed where you live. If the license can't be found in the regulator's public register, the RTP line doesn't matter.
- Pragmatic Play logo on the loading screen
- A rules screen with an RTP line for every mode
- The max-win rule, worded like "the round immediately ends"
- Game History in the settings menu
- A casino license you can find in the regulator's register
Frequently asked questions
What is the RTP of Gates of Olympus?
96.50% in the standard version, the same with the Ante Bet and the bonus buy. Casinos can also choose 95.51% or 94.50%.
Does the Ante Bet or bonus buy change the RTP?
Barely. In the original all three are 96.50%. In the sequels the modes range from 96.49% to 96.55%, a few cents per $100 wagered.
Can a casino change the RTP while I play?
The casino picks one of the versions Pragmatic Play offers when it sets up the game. Licensed casinos run certified versions; the rules screen shows which one you're on. It isn't adjusted spin by spin.
Does a higher RTP mean I'll win?
No. RTP is a long-run average. It lowers the expected cost of playing, but any single session can win or lose far more than the RTP suggests.
Play responsibly
Every spin is random, and the free spins can take hundreds of spins to arrive. Set a budget before you start, use your casino's deposit and time limits, and never chase losses.
